Principal

Eileen Barnes-Vachell

Eileen has over 30 years experience of leading transformational change in the education systems of the UK and internationally. Her in depth understanding of sustainable school improvement is exceptional and has been drawn from her experience as a practitioner, school and local authority leader, policy adviser and consultant. She has devised and delivered a number of ground-breaking educational policies such as the National Strategies and London Challenge. She has provided advice and support on educational policy and practice to government ministers and senior leaders within the UK and other systems. She is innovative and creative and focused on organisational change and improvement that meets the needs of children, young people and their communities.

Her work as a classteacher, headteacher, adviser, and inspector has given her a broad range of experience and expertise in improving schools and changing systems. She has also led school improvement and other services within a local authority.

She is able to work at all levels in the system from schools to national governments and apply her knowledge and experience to project management and delivery.

Current work includes change management programmes with local authorities and policy development with national and regional governments.
